B1 Exam: For Indefinite Leave to Remain (to settle) or British Citizenship, you must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in Speaking and Listening. Trinity's GESE Grade 5 exam = CEFR B1. GESE Grade 5.
A2 Exam: For Spouse Extension, you must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level A2 in Speaking and Listening. Trinity's GESE Grade 3 exam = CEFR A2. GESE Grade 3. No harm to do B1 as B1 Exam is higher than A2 Exam.
